About Ashneer Grover

Ashneer was born on 14 June 1982 in a distinguished family. His father is a chartered accountant and his mother is a teacher. His wife’s name is Madhuri Jain Grover. Belonging to a prosperous family, he never faced any problem socially and financially. He did his early schooling from APJ School Delhi. Apart from this, he obtained a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi. He also went to Insa Lyon University, France for one year. After which he completed his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in the year 2006.

Career

Ashneer did his first job in Kotak Investment Banking as VP from May 2006 to May 2013. Following which Grover served as a Director – Corporate at American Express from May 2013 to March 2015. Grover then began his tenure with Grofers as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ashneer was associated with Grofers from March 2015 to August 2017. He last joined PC Jewelers Limited in November 2017 as head of new Business but did not last long.

Launch of BharatPe and resign form BharatPe Company

In 2018, Ashneer Grover along with business partners Shashvat Nakrani and Bhavik Koladiya started BharatPe. He launched Bharat Pay with less than twenty employees. Within a year, 500 salespeople started working with him. They have successfully established offices in thirteen different cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi. Currently, BharatPe has emerged as the highest paying app. His wife Madhuri decided to take care of some important things like finance control and banking HR in the company.

Various allegations were leveled against Ashneer by the company’s board members. The board member of the company told that Ashneer used to treat them like slaves. Ashneer appealed to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) for review of the charges against him but no avail. He was forced to resign from his post in front of the company board members. The company dismissed Ashneer’s wife Madhuri from her post, finding her guilty of the business affairs of the company.

Ashneer has invested in several companies which include The Whole Truth, IndiaGold, OTO Capital and Front Row etc. According to an estimate, the net worth of Ashneer Grover is US$ 95 million. Ashneer has received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Young Achievers Award in 2021 year.
