Shooter Avani Lekhara becomes first Indian woman to win gold at Paralympics

भारत की पैरा शूटर 'गोल्डन गर्ल' अवनि लेखरा ने पैरालंपिक रिकॉर्ड के साथ जीता गोल्ड

The 19-year-old from Jaipur Shooter Avani Lekhara became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics in the R-2 women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event on 30 August. She is only the fourth Indian athlete to win a Paralympics gold after swimmer Murlikant Petkar (1972), javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia (2004 and 2016) and high jumper Mariyappan Thangavelu (2016). Avani  Lekhara scored 249.6 in the final.
