Prime Minister Modi said in his address that India will make every effort to take forward Indonesia’s commendable initiative during its G20 presidency. It is a very happy coincidence for India that we are assuming the responsibility of the G20 Chairmanship in this holy island of Bali. India and Bali have a very ancient relationship. There is a need today that the benefits of development should be all-pervading and inclusive. We have to extend the benefits of development to human beings with compassion and equality. Global development is not possible without the participation of women.
Addressing the G20 member countries, Prime Minister Modi said that India is taking up the task of G20 at a time when the world is grappling together with geopolitical tensions, economic slowdown, rising food and energy prices, and the long-term side effects of the pandemic. At such a time, the world is looking forward to G20 with hope. Today I want to assure that India’s G20 presidency will be inclusive, ambitious, decisive and action oriented.

On India getting the chairmanship of G20, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that it is very encouraging for India to get the chairmanship of G20. Regarding the trade deal with India, he said that we have to stick to this agreement with India, but first we have to fix some things.
