Who is Safin Hasan?

IPS Safin Hasan was born on 21 July 1995 in Palanpur, Gujarat, India in a middle-class Islamic family. His father’s name is Mustafa Hasan and mother’s name is Naseem Bano. Both of them worked in a diamond unit. He completed his schooling from SKM High School and Ascent School of Science. He did his further studies in electronics and communication from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat.

Safin says that when there was less money for his studies, his mother used to do the work of rolling bread in weddings. His father was also an electrician. When his parents lost their jobs, he had to face a lot of financial crisis. Sometimes he had to sleep on an empty stomach.

Safin was very intelligent in studies. His parents worked hard to educate Safin. Apart from this, local businessman Hussain Polara and his wife Raina Polara also helped Safin financially. When he came to Delhi for coaching, the expenses of 2 years were done by the Polara family.

journey to become an IPS

When Safin was studying in school, the collector had come to inspect his school. Everyone in the school was honoring him like a king. When he went home and asked about it, his aunt told that he is an IAS officer. One has to work hard to get this position. Safin got a lot of inspiration from this incident. He was determined that he too had to become an IAS officer.

When he came to Delhi in 2017 for UPSC preparation, he enrolled in Avadh Ojha Sir’s coaching center. He used to study for 10 to 12 hours everyday for UPSC preparation. He also used to watch interviews of former IAS and IPS officers.

In 2017, he gave his first prelims which he cleared easily. But he had an accident during the main exam but he did not give up. He gave the main exam. In which he was also successful. Safin gave the interview on 23 March 2018 in which he was the second highest scoring student. He had secured 570 All India Rank. He got selected as an IPS officer.
