Suraj’s early education in a local school near his home laid the foundation for his dreams. Though he faced obstacles, like initially failing his 12th examination, he didn’t lose hope and continued his studies. Suraj successfully completed his 12th examination from Sampurnanand Inter College under the UP Board and later graduated with a BA degree from JNU Delhi.

A tragic train accident on January 29, 2017, changed Suraj’s life forever, leaving him without arms and legs. Despite the immense challenges, Suraj showed incredible resilience. He took several months of rest before resuming his studies, pursuing a BA in Russian language from JNU and earning his degree in 2021.

During his time at JNU, Suraj discovered his passion for the UPSC exam and dreamt of becoming a civil servant. Despite facing financial constraints, he persevered. With the government’s support, Suraj prepared diligently for the UPSC exam. He faced disappointment after failing the first attempt but didn’t give up, eventually clearing the prelims and selecting Sociology as his optional subject.
