Some women IAS officers of the country are known for their bravery and some for their honesty. Durga Shakti Nagpal is Durga Shakti not only by name but also by her deeds. Durga Shakti had made a lot of headlines for taking action against the sand mafia in Uttar Pradesh, currently Durga Shakti is in headlines because of her biopic. A biopic is going to be made on IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal, this is the first case of its kind when a film is going to be made on the life of a serving officer.
Who is IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal
Durga Shakti Nagpal was born on 25 June 1985 in Raipur (Chhattisgarh). His father Subhash Nagpal was an Indian Statistical Service officer. His grandfather’s name is Ghanshyam Nagpal. He was a police officer and killed in 1954 while serving the country in Sadar Bazar, Delhi. Bright in mind and sharp in temperament, Durga Nagpal did her graduation in computer engineering.
20th position in IAS exam
In the year 2008 she selected in IRS but she did not satisfy with it and after that she gave the exam again. This time she selected for IAS. Her first posting was Mohali, that year she got 20th position in the merit list. Durga Nagpal married to Abhishek Singh, also an IAS officer of 2011 batch.
Husband is also an IAS officer
In the year 2011, Durga Nagpal married Abhishek Singh, an Indian Administrative Service officer of 2011 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre. Abhishek Singh is also a well-known singer, his music albums are very much discussed. Recently his new album ‘Pehli Baar’ has created a lot of buzz on social media. In this album he is seen with Deeksha Kaushal.
Suspension of Durga Shakti Nagpal
According to media reports, Durga Shakti Nagpal was suspended by the then Uttar Pradesh government (Akhilesh Yadav government) on charges of demolishing the wall of a mosque being built illegally in a village in Greater Noida. A charge sheet was also filed against him in this case.
It was told in the charge sheet that She had no right to demolish the wall, yet he carried out this action. Although there was a lot of opposition to his suspension at that time. Many leaders opposed this action of the government. Due to this, his suspension was canceled on 22 September 2013. After this, in October, he was appointed as Joint Magistrate in Kanpur Dehat.
Biopic On Durga Shakti Nagpal
Durga Shakti Nagpal became headline of all newspapers and channels because of her bold step to end illegal sand mining. Inspired by the fearless journey of IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal, renowned filmmakers Sunir Khetarpal and Toby Grewal announced on 9 December 2019 that they will collaborate to bring Durga Shakti Nagpal’s biography to the big screen.
