We are talking about IAS Anu Kumari of Haryana who prepared for UPSC exam 10 years after completing her studies and got All India 2nd rank in 2017. When IAS Anu Kumari started preparing for the Civil Services Examination, her child was very 2 year old. It was difficult to prepare while being away from the child and listening to the society. But regardless of all this, he kept on studying day and night. The result of which was that he was not only selected but also got All India 02 rank.
IAS Anu Kumari Birth, Family
Anu comes from a Jat family. He was born on 18 November 1986 in Sonepat, Haryana. His father’s name is Baljit Singh and mother’s name is Santoro Devi. Anu has two brothers and a younger sister. His father works in a hospital and mother works as a buffalo herder. Due to the lack of good income of the father, the mother used to earn money by rearing buffaloes. Which used to help the house. Her husband’s name is Varun Dahiya who is a businessman in Delhi. His son’s name is Rihan Dahiya. Anu had cleared the 2017 UPSC exam. He was posted in Kerala cadre.
Anu Kumari’s Education
Anu completed her schooling from shiva siksha sadan. After this he did B.Sc Honors degree from Hindu College, University of Delhi. After this he did MBA from IMT Nagpur. She says that at the time of college, she used to commute daily from Delhi to Sonipat.
Anu Kumari’s early career
Anu started her career with ICICI Bank in Mumbai. After this, she worked in the UK company Aviva Life Insurance on an annual package of Rs 20 lakh. After working in the private sector for almost 10 years, she left the job in 2016 and started preparing for civil services. She says that her maternal uncle gave her Advised to prepare for civil services.
UPSC journey
In 2016, his maternal uncle got Anu’s brother to quietly fill the UPSC exam form. Anu worked hard for a month and gave the exam and was left with only 1 number in the cut-off list. At the time of preparation, his son was only four years old, due to which It was not easy to prepare. She sent his son to his mother and started studying. After two years of hard work, he secured second rank in his second attempt in the year 2017. He had prepared for IAS from NICE Institute, Delhi. He chose Sociology as his additional subject. After passing the exam, Haryana urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain made her the brand ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign of Sonipat district.

IAS Anu Kumari scored a total of 1124 marks out of 2025 in the UPSC 2017 exam. Out of which 937 marks were for mains exam and 187 for interview.
