Arvind Krishna was born in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh in 1962. His father’s name was Major General Vijay Krishna and mother’s name was Aarti Krishna. His father worked in the Indian Army and his mother worked for the welfare of Indian Army widows.
Education
Arvind Krishna did his 10th class from St.Joseph’s Academy Dehradun and Studied 12th from Staines School, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. He studied Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He went to the US for further studies. Arvind did his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1990.

Career
Arvind joined IBM in the year 1990. IBM is an American multinational information technology IT company. He got the position of Senior Vice President at IBM’s cloud and cognitive software where Arvind headed the IBM business unit. He introduced many new technologies of IBM viz. Artificial intelligence, cloud and quantum computing.
On being elected CEO, Arvind said, “I am thrilled to be named IBM’s new executive officer. I am grateful for the confidence reposed in me by Guinea and the Board of Directors.”

Achievement
Federal Reserve Bank of New York elected Arvind Krishna as a Class B director. As per the report, Krishna will hold the post till December 31, 2023. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks of the United States.
